ROAD TO ORBDAYS: stakeholder synergy and promotion of the ESG culture

One of the most important aspects of the Outdoor & Running Business Days is their ability to create connections among various players in the outdoor and running sectors, fostering discussion on key topics such as environmental responsibility, technological innovation, and social responsibility. The event is not just an occasion to showcase new products, but a concrete opportunity for companies, experts, retailers, and associations to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to ESG principles.

For years, MagNet has been committed to promoting dialogue and sharing moments, offering space for thematic panels and meetings with industry experts. These sessions raise awareness among participants about the importance of adopting responsible practices and als. A significant example is the IOG Square (Piazza IOG)—an intentionally designed green space that serves as the heart of discussions and presentations. Here, roundtables are held between IOG and  Assosport  members, along with meetings involving companies and retailers, and collaborative discussions.

Over the years, MagNet hosted a series of talks and workshops on environmental and social topics, involving leading experts in the field. These included the workshop “Calculating and Reducing the Environmental Impact of an Event”, led by Green Media Lab, and the talk “How to Offset the Impacts of an Event or Product”, held in collaboration with  Carbonsink , WAMI, and Green Media Lab. Attendees also received a copy of “The Nation of Plants”, a book by botanist Stefano Mancuso. Additionally, Gian Luca Gasca gave a talk titled “Sustainable Trekking: A How-To Guide”, and Daniele Ghigo, ceo of Barter, presented an innovative digital platform for inter-company goods exchange, aimed at optimizing inventory and reducing the risk of unsold stock.

Alongside the talks, hands-on workshops and special initiatives have been held over the years. One example is the upcycling project curated by Ferrino (pictured below), which demonstrated how worn-out tents can be transformed into new outdoor items such as bags, picnic blankets, or backpack covers.

All of this shows that the Outdoor & Running Business Days are not just a meeting point for companies and professionals, but a true hub of knowledge and innovation – where sustainability becomes a central theme of the conversation. MagNet continues to work toward making these moments of exchange increasingly rich and impactful, with the aim of building a business community that is conscious and attentive to the environmental and social challenges of the future.
